About Dr. Ghazna Khalid
Dr. Ghazna Khalid is currently the Country Advisor for the Global Financing Facility (GFF)/World Bank for Pakistan. She is a public healthcare specialist and serves as a Visiting Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Public Health at Health Services Academy, Islamabad. She also holds the position of Senior Sector Health Specialist for UNDP in the Merged Areas of KPK (ex-FATA).

She has previously served as Advisor Public Health Emergencies at NDMA, PM Secretariat during Covid-19, with extensive expertise in Global Health Security. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked with leading international and national organisations in areas including Reproductive, Maternal & Neonatal Health, Women’s Health, Health Emergencies, Human Security Development, and Refugee-related issues. She is also a specialist in strategic communication and establishment of oversight bodies in the public social sector.

Dr. Ghazna has a proven track record of working effectively with the Government of Pakistan, including the Ministries of SAFFRON, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Planning & Development, and Health. From 2016–2020, she served as Special Advisor to UNHCR on Education, Health, and Strategic Partnerships.

She holds an MD from Imperial College London (1996), a Doctorate from University College London (2013), and a specialization from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, London. She also completed the National Security Leadership Programme at the National Defence University, Pakistan (2018).
