Climate

Development Synergies International (DSI) is actively addressing the growing intersection between climate change and public health. We support governments and development partners in preparing for and responding to climate-related health emergencies by strengthening health systems, integrating climate data into planning, and promoting resilience across sectors. Our work ensures that the impacts of rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and changing disease patterns are met with evidence-based, timely, and coordinated responses.

DSI provides strategic support in climate-smart planning for healthcare and agriculture systems, focusing on risk mitigation and adaptation strategies. We assist in building institutional capacity to manage climate-sensitive diseases, safeguard essential health commodities, and develop early warning systems for communities most vulnerable to climate shocks. Our interventions are designed to reduce the burden of climate-induced health risks, such as heat stress, vector-borne diseases, food insecurity, and waterborne illnesses.

We offer services that include climate-health vulnerability assessments, integration of climate indicators in disease surveillance systems, and the use of digital technologies such as GIS and predictive analytics for forecasting outbreaks and supply disruptions. Our work aligns with global frameworks like the WHO’s health and climate agenda and supports the Government of Pakistan’s commitments to sustainable development and disaster preparedness.

At DSI, we believe that building climate resilience is not just an environmental priority but a public health imperative. By fostering collaboration across sectors and applying a One Health approach, we contribute to long-term climate adaptation strategies that protect both people and the planet. Our goal is to empower systems to withstand climate shocks while continuing to deliver essential health and food services to the most affected populations.
